Truly from the heart

With recent events in our nation I feel a great burden to pray! In many ways I see all of the race and gender issues as a ploy of the devil to disctract the Church from its primary purpose, that of reaching others with the message of salvation. The Baptist Faith and Message states under the sub-title Evangelism and Mission:

It is the duty and privilege of every follower of Christ and of every church of the Lord Jesus Christ to endeavor to make
disciples of all nations. The new birth of man's spirit by God's Holy Spirit means the birth of love for others. Missionary effort on
the part of all rests thus upon a spiritual necessity of the regenerate life, and is expressly and repeatedly commanded in the
teachings of Christ. The Lord Jesus Christ has commanded the preaching of the gospel to all nations. It is the duty of every
child of God to seek constantly to win the lost to Christ by verbal witness undergirded by a Christian lifestyle, and by other
methods in harmony with the gospel of Christ.

We live in a wicked world. Satan roams this world looking for those he may devour. We, as Born Again Believers, must keep our eyes upon the Lord and our heart committed to sharing the Good News. Sin is sin, it only takes one to make a person a sinner. It does not matter what that sin may be. We all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). WIthout repentance and turning to Jesus Christ we are without hope. When we repent and turn to Jesus Christ for salvation we receive the greatest hope.

I am disappointed in the Supreme Court decision attempting to redefine marriage. I am broken hearted over the racial tension in America. I feel desperately for the hungry and abused. But I feel the greatest burden for those that face eternity in Hell. Let us not be distracted by circumstances. Let us be the voice of hope in a desperate world.
