I recently heard someone say that they looked at the revisions of the Baptist Faith and Message and felt that Baptists have watered down our doctrine over generations. I was looking at a side by side comparision of all versions and saw that many clarifications have been made. I feel that for the most part Southern Baptist hold to foundational standards as strongly as ever. The truth being that some areas of the latest BF&M carry a clearer explanation of our beliefs than previous versions. I am sharing a link to the site that provides a comparison of the various versions without any explanation or commentary. I encourage everyone to look for yourself.
I am a Christian first, then a Southern Baptist. I believe the two go very well together.
